I can see this cutter being a really good friend in our house because we eat on average from May to early September 2-3 watermelons a week. Then I sit and impatiently tap my foot in wait for the first melons in May the next year. This cutter makes removing the meat from the rind super easy. I find that I can completely empty a large melon in about 5-10 minutes. In retrospect I remember it taking around 30-45 minutes before this wonder was devised.
Set also includes a baller/corer. This is great for making decorative dessert plate. So slice some watermelon, ball some of it and for the edges of the plate core out an apple with the corer and lie the slices of apple around the edges of the plate for a decorative dessert. ENJOY!
The craftsmanship is perfect and the ease of use in indescribable. I can see that a lot of thought went in to making this cutter. Some of the cutters hurt your hand but this one is curved just perfectly so as not to cause discomfort.
